I believe in the struggle of getting out of a warm bed on cold mornings,
the judgment of animals,
the worth of painful lessons,
the therapy of midnight drives down dirt roads,
the ending of a story wrote with hope, perseverance, laughter, tears.
But being cruel is never the benefit to anyone.

And I believe in the claim that trust is putting the knife in the other person's grasp.
