About Me

Hello!

​My name is Katelyn Dawn Hartupee Malett, but I usually go by Katie. I think it's important for anybody looking at this portfolio to remember that I'm human, not just a resume. I want everybody to see my brightest qualities and my best work, but I also want to be transparent, and for people to be able to see who I am at home and who I am doing the things I love.




​Pet Mom
I think one of the most important facts about me is that I'm a pet mom. I have two kittens that I took in when they had been abandoned at 3 weeks old, named Ani and Ari (they're brother and sister). I also have two ducks that I love very much as well, Annalise and Zeus, that follow me around in the summer. I also can't forget my very first animal I owned alone, Jimmy. He's my beta fish.






Artist & Creator
When I can, I love to spend my free time painting or sculpting, or doing DIY projects. I love the feeling of a medium in my hands and being able to create something that was only an idea in my head. I also love to arm knit, where I wrap thick yarn around my hands and arms to create chunky blankets and scarves




​Traveler 
I love to travel. I love going to Mackinac Island every summer and exploring the various trails around the island. This past winter I went to Saint Louis, Missouri, on a service trip and I had the time of my life with the group I went with. I have also gone out of the country to Punta Cana, which was a gorgeous trip a few years ago. In the summer of 2018 I will be going to Italy for half a month, and then in January of 2019 I will be studying international healthcare in Nepal, which I am beyond excited for.
